Corona Virus Effect: Apple closes around the world except Greater China

• Cook sent a memorandum to employees at most of its global offices, giving employees the ability to work from home.
• There are about 460 locations outside of Apple's China.

Apple Inc. said on Saturday it is closing hundreds of its retail stores outside Greater China until March 27, and is going to work remotely to help curb the spread of the virus.

 In a letter published on Apple's website, Chief Executive Officer Tim Cook states that "the most effective way to reduce the risk of virus transmission is to reduce density and maximize social distance."  Stores arrive. It was decided to close temporarily and move corporate employees outside Greater China to work remotely.

There are about 4,460 locations worldwide outside of Apple's China, including the United States.  Includes close to 270 stores.  Apple previously closed its stores in Italy and Spain because the world belongs to the code 19 epidemic.

 Cook said that employees at closed shops will continue to receive general pay for each hour.  He also said that Capertino, a California-based technology giant, has donated $ 15 million to fight the coronary virus and will be a donation to two matching employees.

Cook did not say how long the remote task would continue to be edited, but added that "those who need work should follow the instructions to maximize mutual space to stay on site.  "  In many offices, Apple employees were encouraged to work remotely.  Saturday Cook closed his letter, thanking "brave first responders, doctors, nurses, researchers, healthcare professionals and public servants" for fighting the epidemic.

 As a US-based technology company that produces most of its products through China's supply chain, Apple has been particularly impressed by the Coron virus.  With the factory shut down, its supply chain was introduced weeks ago, and products like the iPhone and iPad Pro saw obstacles to fulfill orders.

On Friday, Apple said it would hold its annual conference online for software developers, which will feature a June gathering that usually brings thousands of people to San Jose, California.
